Give yourself a gift of massage and support (each session includes assessment and consultation)

Women are making more holistic choices about their health and birthing practices. Massage throughout pregnancy is a natural decision.  Your baby feels what you do. Massage during pregnancy can safely and comfortably relieve stress and its harmful effects upon you and your baby.  Massage for mom has been designed specifically to safely provide relief, and to ease the various discomforts of pregnancy.

Massage during pregnancy:

  • Protects mom and baby by regular assessments for DVT, and other problems as well as relief from stress, aches and pains.
  • Stimulates glandular secretions, stabilizing your hormone levels, and making side effects less severe.
  • Reduces the strain on your lower back, abdomen, and shoulders. As your pregnancy advances into the final trimester
    this relief is most welcome.
  • Naturally sedates the nervous system, producing much-needed rest and relaxation.
  • Increases muscle tone, and dispels spasms and knots. Ligaments, tendons, and joints gain greater flexibility.
This is particular advantageous during labour.

Obtain relief from these common discomforts of pregnancy with massage during pregnancy:

  • Abdominal pressure
  • Backaches
  • Breast soreness
  • Constipation and heartburn
  • Edema (swelling of hands and feet)
  • Fatigue · Headaches
  • Leg cramps
  • Lower back pain
  • Sinus congestion
  • Varicose veins

Contraindications for massage during pregnancy:

  • Only allow qualified a pregnancy massage therapist perform massage on you during your pregnancy. There is much to be watchful for and not all techniques are safe.
  • Long flowing strokes on the lower extremities (legs) are believed to be unsafe. Some aromatherapy oils are unsafe during pregnancy
  • Massage of the breasts should be avoided as this may stimulate a secretion of the hormone oxytocin that could trigger contractions which in turn can hurt baby.

Proper positioning of mother is important for safety and success.
